Buhari Acknowledged The Right Of Self Determination In His Speech At The United Nations General Assemply 2015.

While addressing the United Nations General Assembly, Buhari Stated quote:

"Mr. President,

27. As we engage in these annual debates, we need remind ourselves of the principles that led to the founding of the United Nations. Among those are peaceful coexistence and self-determination of peoples. In this context, Mr. President, the unresolved question of self-determination for the Palestinian people and those of Western Sahara, both nations having been adjusted by the United Nations as qualifying for this inalienable right must now be assured and fulfilled without any further delay or obstacle.

28. The international community has come to pin its hopes on resolving the Palestinian issue through the two – states solution which recognises the legitimate right of each state to exist in peace and security. The world has no more excuses or reasons to delay the implementation of the long list of Security Council resolutions on this question. Neither do we have the moral right to deny any people their freedom or condemn them indefinitely to occupation and blockade...."
------
CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME.
Biafra folks are only demanding and fighting for the same Right Of Self Determination which Buhari recognized and wanted to be extended to Palestinians.

If he has made this speech at the United Nations, why is it that the people of Biafran seeking for self-determination are being prosecuted and as such treated as a treasonable offence? Unless Buhari has got a coconut brain, he cannot remember what he preaches.

Biafra Vs Palestine: The Irony Of Buhari’s Un Speech

By: Nnabuike Nnadedeon:
22nd October 2015

During the recently concluded UN General Assembly held in the US, the Nigerian President, Mohammadu Buhari was quoted to have made a serious case for the self-determination efforts of the peoples of Palestine and the Western Sahara(the Polisario movement) fighting to be freed from Israel and Morroco respectively. Buhari, during the speech pleaded with the world leaders(though some people claimed he spoke to an empty hall), to listen to the Palestine and the Western Sahara and grant them independence.

That statement or request when placed side by side with what is happening in Nigeria concerning the issue of Biafra, is completely ironical and facism. It is absolutely self-defeatism for a President who is heading a country where thousands are being murdered, with hundreds of thousands in detention for demanding to be allowed to exercise their rights to self-determination to stand in front of world leaders to campaign for other peoples’ freedom while he is preventing others from enjoying theirs. Whatever that necessitated such appeal actually led credence to the need for Nigerians total support for the restoration of Biafra.

Arguments are rife that Buhari’s apparent support for the Palestine and Western Sahara was prompted as a face saving gesture to placate the muslim world over the position of the country’s former President, Jonathan Ebele Goodluck, who abstained during previous vote on Palestine state. They argued that GEJ’s anti-Palestine posture or non-committal disposition angered most muslim world so much that they added their support to oust him from power. It then rested on Buhari, during that UN meeting to reassure them that Nigeria is still in total support for Palestine independence by making an open request for them. Whatever is the reason, it is to be noted that such official position of President Buhari has rather presented Nigerian leadership as two-faced government. while it kills her own freedom fighters, it supports other peoples’ agitation for the same freedom. Its therefore important to remind President Buhari that whosoever goes to equity must go with clean hands.

Let him also know that charity begins at home. Let him be reminded that what is good for the geese is equally good for the gander. Remind him that if freedom is good for the Polisario and Palestine, he should first grant the Biafrans their own right to freedom. It is absolutely hypocritical for one to carry a log in ones eye while spotting a speck in other person’s eye. If he has started to seek peace in other peoples’ land, let him secure the same at home first, before venturing into foreign land.

Its equally important to let him understand that his position on this issue is indirectly inviting violent, since it appears his support for the two group aforementioned could have been necessitated because they are violent groups. Is he therefore insinuating that the Biafrans are not serious because blood has not started to flow? If after being a serious party in the orgy of blood that characterized the (first) Biafra war, he still expect Biafrans to resort to violence in order to attract Nigerian Government positive attention to the Biafran freedom struggle, then somebody might really be angling for a disaster.

When considering the level of human suffering going on currently in the Northeast Nigeria due to Boko Haram insurgence, it will be a very terrible human catastrophy to have another flood of refugees move from the Eastern flank.Let us remind him that effect of high level of application of military technology that may characterize any Biafran military showdown with Nigeria today can be horrendous and disasterous. Its therefore of good conscience to advise that the Government in Abuja should expedite action to start discussion with the Customary Government of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, in order to reach an agreement on how to peacefully seperate Biafra from Nigeria. Our attraction to peaceful resolution sterns from the fact that no human agenda is worth any human life, except for the ‘draculas’ of this world. We stoop to conquer.

Global Terrorism Index: Nigerian Fulani militants named as fourth deadliest terror group in world

The fourth deadliest known terrorist group has been named as the Fulani militant group operating in Nigeria and parts of the Central African Republic.

The little-known group, formed of individuals from the semi-nomadic pastorial ethnic group Fula people existing across several West African nations, has seen a dramatic escalation of its activities in the past year.

In 2013, the Fulani killed around 80 people in total – but by 2014 the group had killed 1,229.

Operating mainly in the middle belt of Nigeria, opposed to the north which is dominated by Boko Haram, the group recorded 847 deaths last year across five states, and has also been knonw to stage attacks in the Central African Republic (CAR), according to the latest report from the Global Terrorism Index.

Little is known about the group, despite the high toll they are inflicting on local civilian populations, but it is supposed the increased instability in CAR and Nigeria - despite some government successes against militant groups - has facilitated the group's expansion.

As much as 92 per cent of their attacks target private citizens, reflecting the group’s primary concern over the ownership of farmland. Each attack claims an average of 11 lives, with the largest known in April 2014 killing as many as 200 people after a group of the militants targeted community leaders and residents during a meeting in central province Zamfara.

In the past year Nigeria has experienced the greatest increase in deaths from terrorism, with 7,512 deaths reported – an increase of over 300 per cent – most of which have been claimed by Boko Haram.

‎By Demola Akinyemi

ILORIN – The neighbouring Benin Republic has invaded sixteen villages in Okuta, the border town in Baruten local government area of Kwara state, thereby causing serious fear and palpable tension in the affected communities.

‎In their shrewd determination to annex the Nigerian villages, Vanguard reliably gathered that authorities of Benin Republic have gone ahead to construct Gerdarmes Office(Police station) in the affected Nigerian communities and also hoist the country flag at the affected Nigeria villages.

Vanguard checks revealed that the development negated the boundary delimitation of 1914 between Britain and France which the two countries had respected.

The affected Nigeria villages invaded by the Benin Republic include‎ Ogomne, Bwin, Gandasunon, Kpuru and Woru Wuren Kparu.

Others are Ajuba,1, Ajuba 2, Saka Yeruman Kparu,Monta, Dotin Kparu,Halidun Kparu, Yakubun Kparu, Sonsi,Gunosani, Alhaji Kparu,Yodo Mankparu and Simen Kpar

Northern youths blast Biafra protagonists, ask FG to crush

By Soni Daniel, Northern Region Editor

Angered by their renewed attempt to resurrect the outlawed Movement, northern youths have condemned the promoters of the new agitation to revive Biafra and divide Nigeria. The youths writing under the aegis of Arewa Youth Forum, warned those behind the criminal agitation to desist from it and allow Nigeria to remain in peace and find solutions to it’s challenges.

In a statement signed by its National President , Alhaji Gambo Gujungu, the AYF said it was highly disappointed by the heinous move by some selfish elements to cause avoidable crisis in the country.

While calling on the protagonist to retrace their steps forthwith, the forum called on the Federal Government to take immediate steps to quell any move by any group or individual to dismember Nigeria under any guise.

He reminded the government not allow Biafra to operate and cause havoc in the land, as it did when the Boko Haram insurgents first emerged, instead of crushing it as provided by law.

AYF said: “We are worried by the situation in the South East of the country where some youths have taken to the street protesting perceived marginalisation of their zone and demanding a state of Biafra.

“As the umbrella body of all northern youths we want to condemn the development in its entirety, as we do know that it is being carried out in bad faith.

“We want to reiterate that we are apostles of one indivisible Nigeria and will continue to work across the length and breadth of the country to engender peace, unity and progress for all Nigerians irrespective of tribe, religion and region.

“It is because of this that we are calling on all Nigerians to remain anywhere they are in the country. We specifically callon our brothers and sisters from the south east to remain anywhere they are in the north as they will be adequately protected and we will make sure that nothing happens to them.

“We also want to call on the President Muhammadu Buhari led Federal government to act immediately and stop any move that will lead to the breakdown of law and order under control before it escalate.
This is because it is still fresh in the mind of many Nigerians that it is the inability of the government then to tackle the Boko Haram insurgency and nip it in the bud that has caused the situation to deteriorate to this level,” the northern youths said.

BIAFRA : HAUSA/FULANI NORTHERN YOUTHS THREATEN TO SACK IGBOS IN THE NORTH

#BIAFRA : HAUSA/FULANI NORTHERN YOUTHS THREATEN TO SACK IGBOS IN THE NORTH

Troubled by the increase in the intensity of agitation in the southeast of Nigeria, the Arewa Youth Development Foundation (AYDF) has charged northern elders to take a stand regarding the pressing issue.

The AYDF has written to the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) and the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) to act quickly and take a position in reaction to alleged humiliation of northerners in the east by the Igbo Biafra activists.

According to the group, it has made a decision to convey a meeting of all northern youth groups in Kano in a few days time.

The aim of the meeting is to review the commitment of northern leaders’ actions on their previous communication in respect of the agitation by the Igbos.

Leadership reports that the group declared their position in a letter jointly signed by Aliyu Usman of the AYDF, Aminu Adams of the Arewa Citizens Action for Change (ACAC), Bridget Cantiop Yahya of the Northern Emancipation Network (NEN), Comrade Yusuf Muhammed of the Arewa Students Forum (ASF) and Terkular J. Bishama of Arewa Youth Vanguard (AYV).

The letter was made available to newsmen in Kaduna at the weekend.

The AYDF stressed that the meeting will mount pressure on all Igbos residing or carrying out business in any part of the north to relocate east and all northerners in the east to do likewise.

The statement further added that the meeting will map out plans for widespread and sustained protest.

This the group claims is aimed at ensuring that severance of the present federal arrangement is stopped.

Meanwhile, the federal government has been warned by an Ijaw leader to avoid the use of force in their bid to still the protest by pro-Biafra agitators within the southeastern region of the country.

I see a looming war in Nigeria.A war that will consume the whole country if- Josephine Anenih

A former Minister of Women Affairs, Iyom Josephine Anenih, has warned of looming war if the on-going agitation for Biafra in parts of the South-East and South-South is not properly handled by the Nigerian Government.

She sounded the warning in an opinion piece entitled ‘The Blood of The Innocent who died in 1967 – 1970 still cry NEVER AGAIN’ released over the weekend.

Iyom Anenih wrote: “The last thing anybody who has experienced a war will like to experience again or wish for anybody is a bloody war. There are no words and there are no images that can be gory enough to adequately describe it.

“The negative psychological, emotional and physical trauma can best be imagined but cannot be sufficiently described.
“I see a looming war in Nigeria. A war that will consume the whole country if allowed to conflagrate.

“What Nigeria is battling with in the North East will fizzle into child’s play if the insidious danger that is brewing in the South East is not nipped in the bud now.

“I have listened keenly to hear the voice of Igbo Leadership but was deafened by the silence that hit me. I have asked where the Igbo Leadership is but none is answering me. Is there no Igbo Leadership?

“Before you jump up to shoot me down with an accusation of being an ethnic jingoist, I beg you to keep your gun powder dry. I pride myself as a very broad minded, detribalised Nigeria. I am Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba. I am from every part of Nigeria, I am a Nigerian.

“I speak of South East Leaders because in our political arrangements and agreements we have six geo-political zones. The extant reality is that every zone, grouping or region has a Leader or Leaders. The North has Leasers, the West has identifiable Leaders.

The Leaders in the East remain incommunicado.
“Could it be why Nnamdi Kanu stepped into the space and proclaimed himself a Leader? Nature abhors a vacuum.

The ‘Leader’ now has followers. Perchance I am wrong in my assertion or perception that there is no visible Leader in the South East. Maybe there is.

“Why is there a deafening silence on the issue of the agitation for self-determination by a group of individuals from the South East? Why is Nnamdi not told that he is usurping a position that is not his?

“People of Nigeria, we must not let what is happening in this country now spiral into a war. We cannot afford it, and it will be an all-consuming war.

Let us not let the prophesy of Doomsday prophets who prophesied that there will be no Nigeria by 2015, come to pass.

“When Boko Haram started rearing its head in the North, people thought it was a local matter which did not merit the attention of the central Government.

As it was snowballing and assuming a frightening character, it was called Insurgency by a few misguided miscreants. After many years and many lost and shattered lives it is now called a terrorist attack and a war.

“If we can recollect, they became uncontrollable when their leader, Yusuf, was killed and made a martyr.

“The agitation of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its handling by Nigeria is not looking much different from the initial handling of BH. Nnamdi Kanu who could have been called a rabble rouser is now being made a hero and a martyr.

“Every person has a right to speak and articulate their opinions in a democracy. Nobody should attempt to crush or stifle the voice of secession protagonists.

We have robust democratic structures like the National and State Assemblies in place that can engage anybody or group in constructive dialogue. There is a danger in any attempt to stifle any voice or crush peaceful protests.

The alleged death of two unarmed protesters in Anambra at the hands of law enforcement agents does not augur well for a peaceful and amicable resolution of the agitation of a few misguided or not well informed protesters.

“One would rather like to know that the law enforcement agencies are carrying out careful and painstaking investigation into the root cause of this present agitation and who/what is fuelling the agitation with a view to proffering solutions and advising the Government appropriately.

“These now peaceful and unarmed protests should be handled delicately so that it does not get out of hand because of the insidious danger it portends.”

UNC moves to end pro-Biafra protests

A non-partisan, paramilitary corps known as the United Nigerian Chaplaincy (UNC), on Thursday, vowed to end pro-Biafra protests in the south- eastern parts of the country in the interest of the country’s unity.

At the swearing-in of six newly promoted zonal commandants in Abuja, the Commandant-General of the corps, Professor Jidejisos Ejie, said the body was committed to creating and making peace, while rendering service to Nigeria.

The promoted officers were Ukom Ezuma, Leonard Steven, Ajeleson Samuel, Nasal Chima, Ezekiel Joshua and Nwabueze Ifeanyi, who were posted to the six geo-political zones of Nigeria.

Ejie said: “I want to encourage the people from the eastern part to shun violence. Nigeria is coming as God wants it. We are speaking and preaching about the unity of this country and it must be achieved.”

According to Ejie, what makes UNC different from others was because its officers have been called for peace. “Others are made up of graduates, street workers but these are men that are called by God to reconcile men to God and man to man.”

Ejie said, “Our aim is to ensure that they should be one no matter the region, tribe or location. We want tell Nigerians that no matter where you come from, a Muslim and Christian can stay together in one house with fighting.

“We move around in market places, courts and public squares to ensure peace. We settle disputes out of court and this will help decongest the many matters in courts and the prisons.”

Responding, one of the promoted officers, Ezekiel Joshua said his promotion had emboldened him to render more selfless service to Nigeria, adding that it was a position that any military or paramilitary servant hoped to attain on day.

Joshua said that as the Commandant in charge of the North East region of the country, Joshua said he hoped to work towards restoring peace to the region as a core mandate of the chaplaincy.

“We are uniting tribes and people and going to this region, we would be able to work hand-in-hand with government, stakeholders and religious leaders to make sure that peace reigns in that region,” he added

Could Nigeria as a nation be a mistake

Written by

If you kill your own brother and thereafter succeed in reconciling with his children; it is expected that you would take care of the children in a way and manner that they would not often recall the tragedy.

If on the contrary, the children are victimised, maltreated and oppressed, the wounds of their father’s death would forever remain fresh. At some point they would begin to ask if they really belong to the family that saw to the killing of their father.

The wound becomes deeper if one of the children of the murdered brother is manipulated and used to systematically assist the oppression of the murdered father.

Nigeria as one nation could be seen as a mega family and a community that contains different human beings with different horizons and worldview.

Since the birth of this giant community, Nigeria has struggled to define herself as a nation with endless efforts to survive.

Could Nigeria as one nation be a mistake? Here is synopsis of some of the opinions expressed by some people in naijapals website.

The amalgamation of Nigeria in 1914 by Sir Frederick Lugard of UK is the source of our problem today. No two or three people can co-exist unless they agree to share common values like religion, history, culture, language, beliefs, aspirations, ethics etc.

Do you know the reason why Ireland separated from UK? Same reason!! It is time to divide Nigeria just as was done during the 1989 velvet revolution of Czechoslovakia led by Vaclav Havel. Until this is done, more and more bloodshed will abound. It will be one after the other, BIAFRA, MEND, BOKO HARAM, etc.

BIAFRA wanted to separate because they were massacred in the north and were not given fair treatment in the Nigerian polity but they were forced to integrate. MEND wanted to separate because their oil is tapped and land destroyed without fair compensation but they were forced to integrate.

BOKO HARAM wanted to separate because they felt that their Islamic religion is being abused by western education and their culture is in jeopardy and near extinction but they are being forced to integrate.

ODUDUWA wanted to separate even though they have only one man casualty -MKO ABIOLA (and more recently the secession threat sparked off by the recent abduction of OLU FALAE by Fulani herdsmen). The fire and bitterness of his death will be roused from slumber into full fiery fury in the very near future. (cf. http://www.naijapals.com).

My view in this discussion is that variety and differences could enhance beauty, and if well managed, add colour to peaceful coexistence.

Experience from the different tribes and regions of the world that have the same language, same culture, same religion, same ethics and same “whatever” does not guarantee unity and peaceful coexistence.

In Rwanda, the Hutu and Tutsi have so many things in common but the genocide and mass slaughter of Tutsi and moderate Hutu by members of the Hutu majority from April 7 to mid-July 1994 claimed the lives of an estimated number of five hundred thousand to one million innocent human beings.

The solution Rwanda sourced for after the genocide was not cessation but the political means and will to live together again.

“Today, Rwanda has two public holidays commemorating the genocide. The national commemoration period begins with Genocide Memorial Day on April 7 and concludes with Liberation Day on July 4.

The week following April 7 is designated an official week of mourning. The Rwandan Genocide served as the impetus for creating the International Criminal Court to eliminate the need for ad hoc tribunals to prosecute those accused in future incidents of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes”

One of the ways Nigeria can truly be called a nation is if the leaders are selfless, ready and willing to make the sacrifice of healing the wounds from the root. Another way is if the leaders could think less of their personal gains and think more of the common good.

Selfishness and greed had made some leaders to instigate some of their people into unnecessary violence akin to a situation where those who represent a particular zone in the senate or house of representative keep the allocation meant for the development of their region and still cry out that the region is marginalized.

They go to any length to mobilize the innocent youths to die in the course of protest while they remain the hidden actors. This time of change should include a call to sincere ethnic dialogue and faithfulness to federal character.

What if the resolutions of the conferences right from Aburi conference in Ghana were implemented, could Nigeria not have been saved from the Biafra genocide and the different ethnic uprising that had destroyed the lives and properties of many people.

Perhaps the problem affecting the oneness of Nigeria is not a result of varieties but a lack of leadership skills, sincerity of purpose and political will to manage the differences.

The publication of M.O. Ene, “Beyond Biafra, Beyond Buhari” in Aladimma Express calls for further reflections on the sincerity of the oneness of Nigeria akin to any refined nation. Ene compares Nigeria to a house that is still standing on a fundamentally flawed foundation.

He believes that Biafra is back on the front pages because there was no proper healing from the root and a sincere follow up to the peace declaration: “No victor no vanquished”. The feeling that the Eastern region is marginalized could be what is being expressed in the recent call for the Federal Republic of Biafra.

In October, 2015, various media reported that Nnamdi Kanu, the alleged director of Radio Biafra was arrested. On October 18, 2015, the report in Vanguard described Kanu as “the Director of Biafra Television and the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB)”.

This is the time the Nigerian Government should call Nnamdi Kanu and his group for dialogue because detention or death cannot extinguish the ideology which he represents. He should be treated as a courageous person who dared to voice out the feelings and thoughts of many people. To accept this demands humility and sincerity on the part of Government.
Nigeria government should avoid the mistakes of the past.

Imagine if Muhammed Yusuf was not killed! What if some orthodox Islamic scholars who do not share his ideology were called to de-radicalise him? What if he was handled with care such that he could explain why he was targeting only the police and government institutions? Perhaps, the politicians who used him and duped him and his group could have been called to order.

Perhaps, the impression that they were against Christians could have been corrected because the Boko Haram of Yusuf did not attack Churches. Nigeria and Nigerians would have been saved from the present high level of terrorism. Dialogue when there is a spark always yields more fruits than the kind of post-mortem dialogue Nigeria is now negotiating with Boko Haram.

What of Ken Saro Wiwa and the tragedy of Ogoni land? This ugly episode is a scenario of how members of the same family could be used to destroy one another. What if the compensation provided by the oil companies were duly utilised to develop their own land? What if Ken Saro Wiwa was not killed? What if the constitution of Nigeria was designed in the context of Nigeria reality and used to solve Nigeria nagging crisis? That Nigeria is one nation could not be a mistake.

The mistake is attitude of some Nigerians and the lack of vision on the part of some of the office holders who ought to be leaders and patriots. Does Nigeria still need a National referendum to decide how to keep Nigeria one? Make hay while the sun shines!

Biafra: Plateau DSS invites Igbo leader

The State Security Service (SSS) in Plateau State has invited the President General of the Igbo Community in Jos, Mr. Innocent Asogwa, over the recent protests in the South- East and South-South region of the country demanding for the actualisation of the Biafran State.

Our correspondent was informed by Asogwa that the SSS only invited him to assure them that he will prevail over the Igbo Community in Plateau State not to join their counterpart, protesting for the State of Biafra in the South-East and South-South region of the country.

He, however, assured the Security Service that the Igbo Community in Plateau under his watch are law abiding, and would not do anything to jeopardise the fragile peace that is gradually returning to the State.

The new President General, who took over from his predecessor Mr. Okay Ezekwume few weeks ago, advised Ndigbo worldwide to seek legitimate redress with accordance to the laws on issues of marginalisation, rather than taken to protest.

Similarly, Mr. Achike Onochie Esq, President, Anambra Welfare Association in Plateau State has blamed the Federal Government over the recent protest, saying that the Biafra agitation is as a result of the oppressive tendencies against the Ndigbo in this present administration. “You cannot beat someone and at the same time stop the person from crying”, he said.

Onochie said, the President Buhari -led Federal Government is given credence to the agitation of Biafra, by excluding the Igbo nation from his government.

In his words: “Ndigbo has been marginalised in this present administration, simply because the APC led government felt they did not get as much votes from the south-east and south-south during the general election”, he stressed.

He, however, advised President Buhari to take urgent steps in addressing the issue before it escalates.

Meanwhile, the Director General of National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mr. Mike Omeri, in Jos last weekend, during a one-day retreat organised for political office holders, advised the agitators of Biafra to seek the full realisation of their God given talents and potentials with a united Nigeria instead of seeking opportunities to draw the country backward.

Omeri gave a new directive to all the State Directors of the Agency in the affected states, urging them to seek creative and positive ways of engaging the youths of these areas on the need for unity, peace and progress, noting that Nigeria has since passed the period of ethnic and tribal consolidation and separation.

The NOA boss is quoted as saying “Nigeria has passed the period of calls for separation and self-determination. We fought and resolved that conflict with a commitment to ever remain together as a united people.

“What we must seek at this point is to join hands with the government to promote and build a just and secure society in which the opportunities are available to all despite our ethnic cultural differences”, he said.

DO BIAFRA ELDERS DESERVE APOLOGY?... BUT BIAFRANS YOUTHS APOLOGISED.

Mazi Nmandi Kanu is a name that has taken toll to sound and re-sound today and within the lines of history. This is a son worthy to be held at great esteem irrespective of what the Biafra elders may consider to be arrogant in his dispositions over the struggle to re-establish the Sovereign state of Biafra. It is never and would never be forgotten that the state of Biafra people under the Nigeria administration has seen a toll of administrative and infrastructural development nightmares. If going by any ideal judgement, one would strongly condemn the act of irrelevance ever displayed by Biafran elders who have considered themselves fortunate to be recipients of consolation prices being dished out with no remorse by Nigerian successive administrations to the detriment of the future of the Biafran youths. For how long are we going to continue being consoled with prices while every other regions that made up Nigeria continue to be winners... ? What sort of lukewarmness is Biafra elders displaying in the face of marginalization and undue deprivation of the rights of their children... ? A biblical exhortation says that parents should not provoke their children to anger. While it is the duty of the children to obey and honor their parents, it does not mean that parents should exercise negligence to the detriment of their children. A good parent plans and leaves inheritance for the children; what inheritance are the Biafra elders leaving behind for the young Biafra generation... ? Are the Biafra elders dreaming?

This in essence never totally spelt absolute justification of any area where the Biafra elders may have considered to have been offended by the moves of the illustrious and heroic son of this time Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. The elders should understand that they failed to address a domestic issue that within the confines of the village square that the children now decided to make it a public outcry. Biafran elders shouldn't expect much of any apology from the youths this time around. But, as patriotic youths who see yet the importance of elderly advises, the door is still open now for any reasonable approach to the Biafra realization struggle. If the elders could not swallow their undeserved pride to apologise and admit their mistakes that they have failed Biafran youths, then they should not expect that People like Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and Radio Biafra that now speak the mind of the Biafran youths can be quenched.

Can't we be ashamed just for once that a landlord like Biafra is living in compassionate thatch house in his own land... ? For how long are we going to continue being polluted by the gerator fumes of the domestic residences of these elders... ? Doesn't Biafra land produces what is more than enough to feed its people and host strangers comfortable... ? Would the elders ever deny the fact that other small west African countries enjoy better and comfortable basic amenities far much compared to what are obtainable in Biafraland? Could anybody ever compare the Annual GDP of over five of these west African countries merged together to that of Biafra? Ah ah! Where are the Biafra elders coming from? Mind you,the elders cannot continue to play more of act of negligence than being realistic. They can go ahead and disassociate themselves from their own children because of crunches that fell off the Nigerian government tables they scramble for. No matter how they feel satisfied with their Nigerian government for over 45years, the Biafra youths are not satisfied! But they must know it well that they are being mocked by Nigeria!

To my opinion and what I consider worthy from the Biafra elders, it is commendable and worthy of emulation even if not in its totality but based on its significance the statement of Former Foreign Affairs Minister, Gen. Ike Nwachukwu (rtd) on 7th of November 2015 where he urged Nigerian youths not to build on the mistakes of past and present leaders even as he regretted his generation of Nigerian leaders has failed the country. It is in no doubt that his address is in line with what Mazi Nmandi Kanu, pro-Biafran Organsizations and entire Biafra youths are trying to address. In order for that mistake not to repeat itself, the Biafran youths find the answer to one thing... ,SOVEREIGN STATE OF BIAFRA! We stand together never to repeat your mistakes.

We apologize to you our Biafran elders and ask you to reserve your grievances but focus on the realities. With this you must come in terms with what your children are in for. A patient bird they say is the vulture; yes the Biafran youths have exercised much patience more creditably that the vulture. To go ahead blaming and condemning Mazi Nnamdi kanu and Biafran youths would never bring the solution. Biafran elders must re-consider their hardline criticisms against their children so that they would not be taken aback by the trend of the struggle. What we know is that sooner than later Biafra will emerge as a Sovereign nation.

The truth we know is always bitter... ,that is the crime of Mazi Nmamdi Kanu!

The truth shall prevail... .NO GOING BACK.

Ijaw Youths Urge Federal Government Of Nigeria To Release Radio Biafra Director.

In a statement issued in Yenegoa by IYC Spokesman, Mr. Eric Omare, the youth body noted that haven been granted bail and bail conditions fulfilled, it amounts to illegality for the Directorate of State Security (DSS) to keep Kanu in detention.

The IYC further called on security agencies to have regard for the rule of law in the exercise of their constitutional duties.

It advocated for the use of dialogue rather than military might to resolve the issues leading to protests by pro-Biafra protests in parts of the country and urged the security agencies to respect the fundamental human rights of protesters.

“To adopt a military approach to crushing pro-Biafra protesters as being suggested by some military operatives is not the solution.

“It would only escalate the crisis. We warn against military brutalization and human rights abuse by security agencies. The right to peaceful protest is an integral part of a democratic society.

“The massive pro-Biafra protests in recent times has once more brought to the fore the need to honestly and holistically renegotiate the terms of Nigerian’s existence as a nation.

“To claim that all is well with Nigeria is self-deceit.

“The structure of Nigeria must be such that would allow people from different regions to develop at their own pace towards the realization of their full potential without hindrance from people from other parts of the country,” the IYC stated.

SHOCKING!!! ‪#‎BIAFRA‬ : EXPOSED HOW SAHARA REPORTERS WAS PAID TO TARNISH THE IMAGE OF IPOB AND HUNT DOWN BLOGGERS

“Report reaching our news desk has it that SAHARA REPORTERS, an online publishing outfit has allegedly been paid 2.3 billion Naira to tarnish the image of IPOB and help attack their sympathizers. According to the report, a member of their staff, of an Igbo extraction (names not provided), was given a separate 400 million Naira in cash to use his Igbo connection to identify the sponsors of IPOB for possible elimination.

The online publisher, as I understand is now engaging other online publishers and a popular Igbo blogger based in Lagos to help in spreading whatever reports they come up with. The source, a Yoruba man who works in City Bank, Ogun State branch, where the transfer was effected, stated that the Igbo blogger will be compensated handsomely through significant advertisements for every report published. More on this will be released as soon as available.”

Death And Its Harbingers Have Ceased To Frighten Biafrans.

The True Leader Of The Biafran People Has Finally Emerged

As the Biafra protest rages, it is good that we remind ourselves the purpose of this quest; what we are struggling to safeguard and why we are so determined to continue to fight for the release of LORD NNAMDI KANU and the restoration of the independence of Biafra. We have burn the brunt of this quest, we have suffered marginalization, deprivation, ostracization and all manner of conceivable deaths in the hands of an enemy that is so cruel, that is so wicked and that has used all manner of weapons to not only cage us as a people and stop us from developing at our own pace-keeping us in a state of arrested development, but has without respite hounded us into detention and daily murdering us for daring to ask for our freedom.

But today we rise up to recite before the enemy the portion of the Biafran Anthem that says “if the price be death that we owe to pay, so let us all die without any sheered of fear.” Death and its harbingers have ceased to frighten us; they no longer condition our thoughts. We have opted for death instead. Life is now meaningless to us. We consider ourselves dead already and as such we are not afraid of dying for he that is on the ground is no longer afraid of falling. This protest must go on. It is a battle of homeland and we are putting in our all.

“Give Us Biafra or we all die,” is the expression on the lips of everyone; from Bayelsa to Cross-River, from Akwa-Ibom to Rivers to Delta to Anambra to Imo to Abia to Ebonyi to Enugu to parts of Edo, to parts of Kogi, to parts of Benue and to parts of Southern Cameroon, the frenzy is rapturous, it is electrifying, it is a moving train, nothing stands on its wake.

In the words of George Orwell, “…if liberty means anything at all, it means the ability to tell people what they do not what to hear.” President Buhari and his likes must continue to be inundated with the Biafra nightmare that are Lord Nnamdi Kanu and Biafra restoration.

The extra-judicially detained Director of Radio Biafra, whom we now choose to refer to and call Lord Nnamdi Kanu has proven to be the spark-plug for an idea whose time has indeed come. He has galvanised Biafrans world over while in detention far more than he was able to do before his arrest through the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). Across the globe, the Biafran spirit and the longing for Biafra is more than ever before revived.

The Afarukwu-Ibekwu-Umuahia-born Lord Nnamdi Kanu, a Prince from a Royal family. The Heir apparent to the throne of His Royal Majesty, Eze Sir I. O. Kanu, the Egwukwu 11 of Afarukwu, floated Radio Biafra out of nothing and chose to sustain the radio station than to have accommodation/a roof over his head in London and with his unprecedented firebrand broadcast he was able to generate lots of waves across the world which makes restoration of Biafra a catch phrase among Biafrans and enemies of Biafra alike.

The second phase of the match to Biafra restoration no doubt threw up characters that at some point showed traces of the kind of leaders needed to steer the ship of the Biafra struggle to a safe dock. But of the lot, many had found reason to doubt and question the sincerity of the lot save for Lord Nnamdi Kanu whose blistering campaign for Biafra in less than three years has gotten global appeal with a style that is so so irresistible and captivating with enamors result achieved already.

Everyone seem to be talking about him, every speech or move he makes and whatever that is happing to him and around him has got interpretations and reactions following it from millions of people. He has gradually become a darling and the most sought after Biafran campaigner worldwide with many fearing that the accolade might get into his head and make him drift away like others before him by the time he regains his freedom. But he had already in anticipation sworn with his son and household never to betray the trust placed on him by the Biafran people.

Born in the thick of the genocidal war waged against his Biafran people, Lord Nnamdi Kanu had unapologetically affirmed that the “zoo” referred to as Nigeria only exists today because the white Europeans said so, insisting that it was not created by God the natural way all nations on earth came into existence. But rather was conceived in the heart of man to serve a purpose for which nation states were not and could not be designed for. “…Nigeria is today responsible for the untimely death of over 3.5 million butchered between 1966-70 in the name of preserving the territorial integrity which is in effect a fraud. The complete destruction of the zoo called Nigeria will not only serve to fulfill all righteousness but will send an unequivocal message to the forces of darkness that man does not create a nation only God does, it will also ensure that Biafra will be born into the family of nations without the ravenous monster to devour her aspirations,” Lord Kanu said.

He is the humble servant of the good people of Biafra and the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Biafra. As a servant of the Biafran people he has remained a dutiful worker for the Biafran course and a vicarious pride and source of inspiration to new generation of Biafrans who see in him the bulwark that will crystalize the independence of Biafra.

The Whiteman has a way of distinguishing a special breed that achieved a special feat in extra-ordinary circumstances from others in the roll. The Director of Radio Biafra should have the toga of “Lord” to his name, for in detention as in freedom, he has brought the people closer to Biafra. The ongoing protest would have achieved its main objectives with the unconditional release of Lord Nnamdi Kanu and Biafran independence restored; and will not stop save these two are met, anything other than these two, the protest has to continue unabated with a renewed vigour.

Release Lord Nnamdi Kanu Now!

And Give Us Biafra Or We All Die!!

Comrade A. Awogu wrote from Onitsha.

Don’t use force on Pro-Biafra protesters use dialogue, or face consequences -Comrade Joseph Evah Ijaw Leader.

The Federal government has been advised not to use force on pro-Biafra protesters, who have been holding series of demonstrations in some states in the South-east, and South-south geo-political zones of the country.

National Coordinator, Ijaw Monitoring Group, (IMG), Comrade Joseph Evah who made the appeal in Lagos at the weekend noted that the use of force would not only be counter-productive but also worsen the crisis.

His words: “I implore the Federal Government not to contemplate the use of force against Biafran protesters. The use of force will aggravate the problem. I urge President Muhammadu Buhari to adopt dialogue approach. It is within the ambit of the constitutional rights of people to protest and demonstrate. What these protesters are doing is not illegal as long as they are not violent or take up arms against the state. But it is better to solve the problem now through dialogue before it worsens. It is better to jaw-jaw than to war-war,” he declared.

On why he canvassed dialogue option, Evah explained: “The use of force will never work. Force can’t work. It is not the solution because history has shown that at the end of the day, it is dialogue that is embraced as tool of resolution in many crises. Look at the agitations by the people of Niger-Delta over issues relating to environmental degradation as a result of oil exploration. Initially when the Abacha government murdered late Ken Saro- Wiwa, they thought by doing that they would be able to suppress the people, but the reverse was the case as the agitations became more pronounced, and later became violent with the militants taking to the creeks before the later former President Umaru Ya’adua’s administration called for dialogue.

“As for the Boko Haram, it started in a little way, but instead of the government of the day to explore the dialogue option, it failed to do so, and the problem became monstrous. Let our leaders be good students of history, they should not listen to bad advisers. The Biafra protesters have some grievances; why not dialogue with their leaders to find a solution to the problem? Federal government should be careful about how the case is handled,” he said.

Fulani herdsmen attacks: Enough reason to consider secession — Gani Adams

OTUNBA Gani Adams is the National Coordinator of the Oodua People’s Congress, OPC. In this interview, he argues that failure by the Federal Government to address the continued attacks by Fulani herdsmen may lead to the South West seceding. Excerpts:

By Dapo Akinrefon

On recent position of Yoruba leaders and elders

What we said at the meeting was that as citizens of Nigeria, we have right to protection. We realized that the Fulani crisis with our people has been on for close to 18 years and there have been lots of incidents that attest to that.

We also realized that most of the kidnapping in Ondo, Ekiti and Oyo states are being perpetuated by Fulani herdsmen. We took a decision that if the Federal Government fail to protect us, we have right to self determination.

Threatening of territories

We are not saying anyone should leave the South West because we want development and the contribution of non Yorubas cannot be quantified. But that does not mean that some of them should threaten our territories.

We have so many Yoruba people in the north and I have not heard of a situation where a Yoruba man will kidnap a commoner not to talk of a personality. They will not go beyond the boundaries. We cannot say because we want development, we should therefore allow our territory to be threatened.

It is uncalled for that the caliber of Chief Olu Falae, a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, should be kidnapped. After paying ransom, he was released and some few days later, the Fulani herdsmen still invaded his farm and destroyed his crop.

Any sensible race will not keep quiet over such an incident. Three days after the Yoruba summit, the kidnappers were apprehended by the security agencies. We have right to self determination and it is a position that we will continue to push if the federal government refuses to provide us with enough security. The South West is the economic nerve centre of the country and when you allow such security lapses in the South West, it will affect the country.

The former governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Kwakwanso recently justified the activities of the Fulani herdsmen, arguing that they need eduction, what is your take on this?

I agree with him (Kwakwanso) that the Fulani herdsmen need education. Most of the people, who are educated in the South West did not get that with the help of the government, it is an individual effort. How states in the south provide free education to its citizens? It is an individual or family effort.

But for Kwakwanso to condemn our position, he does not have the right to do so. I have never heard or seen Kwakwanso condemn the activities of Boko Haram. For him to support those who kidnap in the South West, it shows that he would not have been a good leader if he had emerged president of Nigeria. I will advise the former governor that he should be careful with his words because Yorubas are too sensitive. Can anyone from the South West go to Kano and make statements against the Arewa Consultative Forum and not be lynched? How can someone come to the South West and condemn what its leaders and elders have said? Yoruba is a unique race that nobody should toy with because we contributed to the survival of democracy.

Survival of democracy

I am disappointed that some younger Yoruba people supported what Kwakwanso said. Some of them do not have political orientation, all they do is support any cause without having any background information. One of them is Professor Daudu Noibi, who in an advert in one of the national newspapers, hurled abusive words at Yoruba leaders and elders over their position.

He is taking cover a religious Organisation to make his comment but this is not a religious issue. Where is he coming from to condemn the position of Yoruba leaders and elders? Why is he pretending to be a Yoruba person? Why must he say that those who kidnapped Chief Falae are from Niger Republic and not Fulanis? The Fulani in Nigeria did not deny that those arrested are Fulani herdsmen.

I see him being used for political gain and money. I know some people are using this Professor Noibi for political gain but he should be careful and I also want our leaders and elders to beam their searchlight on him. There is no way you betray the Yoruba race and go scot free.

Biafra: Owerri Grounded by IPOB Protest; Okorocha Devastated!

Biafra: Owerri Grounded by IPOB Protest; Okorocha Devastated!

What started yesterday as a protest by IPOB numbering in their hundreds & what was thought by many to be a flop when compared to similar ralies like that of Onitsha, Port Harcourt, Aba etc has culminated into something else, a mammot crowd, something like a one million man match has besieged Owerri as early as 8am this morning. People streamed unto the streets from all nooks and corners. They trouped past Douglas road & temporarily camped at Ama-awusa with a heavy detachment of army & policemen following behind & at the same time blocking some access roads.

As at the time of writhing, all markets including Eke onuwa, new market, Rotibi as well as banks, shops & business premises remain under lock & key. There is a heavy traffic gridlock & people were discussing in groups with their topic centering mainly on their demand for Biafra, release of Nnamdi kanu & condemnation of the governor who they were calling different names like Northerner & Okoroawusa.

Feelers from the Imo state government house indicate that Gov. Okorocha is devasted at this development as he had vowed never to allow any form of Biafra protest in Owerri or any part of the state.

I pray there wont be loss of life.

We’ll continue to keep an eye on the protest and bring you more updates, photos and videos as events unfold

Schools, Markets Shut As Pro-Biafra Agitators Demonstrate In Imo.

Hundreds of supporters of the pro Biafra groups on Thursday marched along the major streets of Owerri calling for the release of Mr Nnamdi Kanu, the alleged mastermind of Radio Biafra.

The demonstrators comprising the members of Movement for the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Indigenous People of Biafra among others were chanting different pro-Biafra songs and other war songs.
Our reporter who monitored the demonstrators reports that armed security operatives like police, Navy and army were seen accompanying the demonstrators in their pick-up vans.
Some of the demonstrators told journalists that the agitation was for the federal to release Kanu unconditionally and allow Biafra people freedom.
They said that it was wrong for the federal government and her security agents to arrest Kanu because he supports and believe in the freedom of Biafra people.

“Kanu did not commit any wrong to be arrested by the Nigeria government and we cannot hold ourselves back in asking for his release even if we die in the process’’, one of the protesters said.

He said that the members of the group had carried out the demonstration in Enugu, Aba, and Port Harcourt adding, ‘we are in Owerri today and hope to extend this move to other towns within Biafran territory till we achieve our aim’’.

The demonstrators wore Biafra T-Shirt and flags, singing songs and calling for the immediate release of Nnamdi Kanu, the alleged mastermind of the Radio Biafra which the federal government recently shut down.

The three markets in Owerri; Owerri Main Market, New Market and Owerri Relief Market were shut down, while some private school s and shop owners closed their shops to avoid any unexpected problem.

When contacted on why armed policemen were sighted accompanying the pro-separatists agitators, DSP Andrew Enwerem, the Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) declined comment.
